Warm-Up (Stepping)

The Warm-Up sets the foundation for every class. Not only does it serve to physically prepare students for kicking, but importantly brings out the energy of a class. Encouraging students to be loud and fast during warm-up is an excellent way to set the expectations for the rest of the class.

Warm-Up #3 is focused on stepping. This warm-up is performed before PD Counter Attack and PD Sparring. Both of these plans focus on moving and keeping distance with a partner. Basic sliding and switching are important for footwork, and adding ducking and jumping improves coordination and adds excitement.
