Warm-Up (Knee-ups)

The Warm-Up sets the foundation for every class. Not only does it serve to physically prepare students for kicking, but importantly brings out the energy of a class. Encouraging students to be loud and fast during warm-up is an excellent way to set the expectations for the rest of the class.

Warm-Up #2 is all about knee-ups. Knee-up drills improve speed, coordination, and endurance. Different knee-up drills are done for different skill level classes. Beginner belts will only do front snap kick knee-ups, intermediate belts start adding in roundhouse kick knee-ups, and advanced belts only do roundhouse kick knee-ups. Warm-Up #2 is performed during DST week. to prepare students for lots of action.
